I'm currently planning on putting a Digital Doctor 5 in my next computer to monitor temperatures but was wondering if there was another way to monitor the NON-Motherboard temperature sensors.

Has anyone seen, or heard of, a card that can be put in the computer that you would plug temp sensors into & then use an application to monitor/log the temps?

Well the DigiDoc5 has temp sensors that you can put anywhere. And I am not sure if you can monitor them with software.

I believe the PCGeiger has software support. Don't quote me on that though.

Thanks for the info but PCGeiger is for monitoring the PCI bus.

As far as the DD5 goes, I'm positive that it has no software monitoring options available. It would be nice if they could provide something like serial output capabilities w/ software to read temps from a serial port.

Any other ideas out there ?

I'm using the joystick port to monitor 4 thermistors that sends the temps right into MBM. Works great, but some soldering and the calibration i sort of tricky.

If it interesting I'll post more info..

That sounds interesting. Can you post the details?

Let's see..

The instructions for the hardware and the software downloads can be found here:http://www.benchtest.com/gp_Temp5.html

And below is a picture of my solution using a D connector for easy connection. And to get my coeffiscients correct, I needed a total of 15 readings! Read the instructions on the site, and you'll understand what I'm talking about.

Edit: I posted the wrong link. All okay now!
