Hello, my Best Buy has a sale on a Digital Research CD-RW with speeds of 48x/16x/48x. The price on the drive is $70 with a $40 mail in rebate. So the total price is $30. Does anyone have any experience with this drive? If so, how good is it?

i would go for it, if you dont have a CDRW. but i've never heard of ditial research, so i cant comment on that. I would buy it, it looks like a pretty fast CDRW

CD writers are cheap now, as they're being replaced by DVD related stuff. You can get a combo (CDRW,DVD player) for $100.

Writable DVD is getting closer to affordable too ($250?). I can't keep track of all the different formats. They'll have to figure all that out (and other issues) before they can go mainstream.
