I want to upgrade my watercooling rig so Im going to get 2 new heater cores. Im just a little conserned about the size that they say it is. For example when they say its 9 1/2"x5 5/8"x2" are they measuring the WHOLE heater core including the inlet and outlet or are they just measuring the grill part? Everything is going inside my case so I need to know if there including the inlet and outlet or if I have to compinsate of it.

How they report the dimensions is going to vary by who is listing the heater core. You'll probably have to contact the seller to find out.

I'll tell ya mine was actually listed by just the square size, didnt take into account the small res's on the bottom or the inlet/outlet on top. But I doubt know if they are all listed that way. Every core i have seen has had almost identical tops and bottoms (not counting pipe lngth, some have very odd piping).

You might want to post exactly which ones your looking at.... Someone here may have that and can give you exact dimensions for it. Like I have a heater core for a 76-86 chevy chevette here... havent used it yet.. but I know I could give specs for it...

I dont think anyone would have this one but, I was looking at a Buick Skyhawk 1984 9 1/2"x5 5/8"x2"

Its supposed to be in stock at my local AudoZone for $16 bucks so I maybe I will have a look at it in the next week, I dont even know if its copper:eek:

I wanted something long as posible to fit my 2 120mm fans but it couldnt be over 6" wide

oh yea I found it with this little program I found called Radac Heater
it gives all heatercores and what size they are, like the one I just listed above.

ok I got a change to go to the store however they didnt have it in stock
I also did a little more research and found 3 models of heatercores I can use, all being 9 1/2"x5 5/8"x2" wich is what I wanted so I can fit 2 120mm fans on thim.

now here the question, I cannot find a pic of any of these blocks so I donno where the inlet and outlet valves are and I donno how big of resavoir they have. what make should I get ?

1984 CADILLAC CIMARRON $22
4 Cylinders 122 P 2.0L TBI

1984 CHEVROLET CAVALIER $32
4 Cylinders 122 P 2.0L TBI

1983 OLDSMOBILE FIRENZA $32
4 Cylinders 112 0 1.8L TBI

these are all without ac wich for some reason makes thim even more expence:mad:

wich one should I get? I would like the inlet and outlet on the top.
I think I will just buy one first so I dont waist too much money if I dont like it.

any thoughts would be quite welcome:D
