I am trying to run need for speed underground and it won't work. I read the trouble shooting and install guide and it said to run dxdiag and that I needed (next to the direct X 9 feild in dxdiag) 4.1.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.XXXXXXX. I have 4.09.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.XXXXXXX. I downloaded DX 9.0B from microsoft's website and that was the 4.09. Does anyone have any idea where I could get 4.1.?

Thanks

Well, I am kinda thinking maybe it has something to do with my video card. Unfortunatly this SIS POS dosent have any updated drivers available. Heh, actually its not that bad of a card either, 128mb ram, and I think the core runs at 230Mhz or something. Not bad for the time and the price I got it for, but if my problem is that the drivers suck thats not good becuase there is only 1 driver. So, does anyone know what this number means? Ill get a screenie for more clarification on what I am talking about.

Exactly what happens when you try to open up the game? Are there any error messages? The more info, the better.

Well, the litte NFS thingy comes up down on the taskbar, the screen flashes and then the thing on the task bar disapears. So it seems as though when you open the game, as soon as it starts it just crashes back to the desktop. Now my other direct X 9 game, call of duty demo, does the same thing, except I get an error message saying "Your video card appears to be missing one or more features required to run call of duty."

In dxdiag, is yours a 4.1?

I hope I dont have to get a new video card.

Thanks

What video card do you have? Do you have the most updated drivers for your video card?
