DirectSound 3d Vista?

Hello. I have recently changed to vista on my PC, except am having problems with 3d Direct Sound and also EAX.

The latest games with with EAX, like Call of Duty 4, however games older like Call of Duty 2 will not run in EAX or 3d Direct Sound.

I have read up on blogs etc, and found that apparently DirectSound does not work in Vista and also some EAX programs will not too.

I am looking to see if this is true, false, or a fix for it?

(I am running Vista Home Premium, Creative Audigy 2 soundcard) (other specs below)

Isnt Alchemy only for X-FI cards?

nope its for audigy also as far as I know

for some reason it free for XFI but you have to pay for it if you have an audigy.... LAME

Ive just downloaded it, and it says "Cannot find a compatible audio device."

Its only comptable with the X-Fi series unfortunately.

Ahh, just found it. Thats stupid that you have to buy it for Audigy, grrr.

Suppose its the best way to fix my problems.
