Ok got a new hard drive ata 100, got a asus 133-7v rev c,

Installed win2k pro on primary ide channel than installed promise ata driver, video drivers, shut down, moved hard drive to primary ata100 channel, adjusted bios by changing boot order to boot ata100/scsi first.

Ok the problem is on load up i get----boot disk failure load system disk and press enter.
I press enter with out doing anything else and windows will load. It does this evertime but also loads everytime when I press enter.

What did I miss in the bios or what is the problem?
Thankyou

forget it it benches faster on the primary ide channel.
All the prosie tested lower for me build 25 and build 33 go figure :)

I had the same problem on my Asus A7V but the drive was quite a bit faster on the Promise 100 controller then with the onboard udma 66. The problem went away with the next bios update. Also you can try enabeling the virus check in bios I have heard that this solved the problem for some people.
