Do i need to reapplay?

do i need to reapply the thermal compound each time i remove the hs from the cpu?

Whenever I remove my heatsink, I clean the heatsink and core and reapply thermal compound. Whether you absolutely have to, I do not know. It's just the way I do it.

I always do it...

The stuff left behind is probably all messy etc. Could get some performance loss as well.

i just tried it out (taking heatsink off then putting it on) i got about 3~4*C higher temps
i would highly sugest reapplying it.

umm could it be that air gets inbetween the thermal compund on the heatsink and the core?
