Does anyone have a 1.2 on an A7V?

Just wondering as my A7V does not want to post with my 1.2 axia "b". I have tried both jumpers, and jumper free. I was going to upgrade my duron700@1016 to an axia 1.2 but the mobo does not seem to like it. I have bio's 1007 but that did not help. Just wondering if anyone have a 1.2 on an A7V

I just sold my A7V. I had a 800 TBird running at 1.1gig on it. For some reason multipilers over 10.5 did not work on the board when setting fsb/mult manually. I did test a 1.2gig cpu in it (100fsb) and it worked if I set the board to auto. If I manually set it to 100x12 it would not even post.

I have a 1.2 on an A7V and I am very pleased about the rig. I was able to overclock to 1404 with air cooling and a couple of large case fans. I don't know why you are experiencing problems with the board as it is one of the better boards for a T-Bird (my opinion, yours may differ). I could go higher with my CPU if I do the infamous voltage mod for the board, until then I need to stick with 1404 MHz. What I do know is that the mainboard doesn't like overclocking with low budget RAM, I don't know what RAM you have, but I trully suggest using high end RAM (I use crucial 150MHz RAM). Your test may prove me wrong... If so plz let me know. Also check if the L1 bridges on your athlon are decently closed. The board refuses to boot if you make a mistake there.

After reading this it sounds like you have a A7V133. What we are talking about here is the older A7V, not the same thing. The A7V only hits about 105fsb.

I have a 1.2 GHz (200 FSB) Tbird on an A7V KT133 (nope not the A).

The chip I have is an AHXA CPU. (Bought it a while ago)

It runs great. Overclocks great too. 1300-1400 MHz no problemo.

For some reason the A7V would sometimes act funny with the original 750 MHz Tbird. My advice is to power down, unplug the power supply, go to clear cmos mode by moving jumper, reset the cmos (look in manual; you have to short the terminal with a flat head screwdriver), move jumper back to proper position, plug in power supply, and reboot.

Hopefully, you see POST.

If you don't, it could be that you don't have the video card fully seated. (Remove and reinsert for good measure.)

Or the CPU fan may not be plugged into the appropriate header.

Good Luck.

ken257, I checked your comment, and I should disagree, I have an A7V running at 117 MHz FSB here, set with the jumper, voltage is at 1.85, but it's also set with the jumpers, so it's a little higher (my asus probe reports 1.92). The reason I didn't increased the clock multiplier is that my RAM runs now at exactly 150 MHz (133+17) what gives me maximum memory bandwith. The other components seem to be able to handle the bus freq, but that says nothing because there is only High-end stuff in there. You are right about one thing though, If I didn't replace the chipset and clock generator cooler (I'm still not sure if it's the clockgen, I just epoxied a fan on a hot part :) )I was only able to get 107MHz FSB. Right now, I feel that I am on the edge with 117.

This was not ment to start a flamewar or attack you, I just posted it for informative reasons.
