We heard rumors before the launch that ECC would work , has any one been able to test this ? IF so I can't wait to setup a Plex/Zfs server with a R3 .

I wasn't thinking about it before but it looks like Ryzen supports the same as most Intel consumer platforms so non-registered ECC.
Simply if motherboard can enable ECC then memory will use it, if not then it will run as standard non-ECC memory and it looks like many boards don't have ECC option in BIOS. In this linked article was mentioned ASRock and ASUS as brands which have ECC enabled but I guess that also not all motherboards.
Registered ECC is almost only available for server platforms.
