does overclocking GPU cause or relieve stress on CPU?

I was getting some weird bluescreens after my overclocked GPU was set back to default (still had cpu overclocked)after reimaging OS. I finally realized it and reset the OC to the GPU, and no more blue screens...? I was thinking the OC GPU took up some of the proccessing off the CPU and that's why no more blue screens. Can anyone shed some light on this for me... does overclocking GPU cause or relieve stress on CPU?

it should cause stress as the driver has to work faster, too..

When do you get the bluescreens ?
The cpu should work more with an overclocked gpu when the cpu has to feed it but in cases when processing is offloaded to the gpu maybe it could help.

I don't think this is load related.
