I'm not currently connecting my IBM deskstar ata/100 on the raid controlller right now and I'm wondering if the IDE port support ata/100 and run the exact same performance if I were to put in the raid controller port. Can someone verify? Thanks

Here's the link to my mobo :

get another one of those ibm hd's and use your raid. in sisoft sandra i got a score of 45,000 on the hard drive benchmark.

They dont make that very clear on there website do they? If you have a manual for the board i assume it would explain in more detail. If not, try downloading the manual from their website. If all else fails, why not try it? If it dosn't work, then you've waisted all of 5 minutes of your life, but you'll know the answer.

i believe in my motherboard book it says its only ata66 support on the standard ide channels

I HAVE A KT7A-RAID AND ON THE REGULAR IDE SLOTS MY WD 30 G. IS ATA100 AND IS SHOWING ATA100 IN THE BIOS.

How can I find out if i'm currently running at ata/100 or ata/66? Is there some progy that let me know?

just for your info, those two IDE channels(ide1, ide2) are on the VT 686B South Bridge chipset which is ATA100 the VT686A does not. Therefore if you have the Abit kt7a-raid you have the capacity of 8 ATA100 Drives
