does the software you use to OC matter ?

I dont think it really affects your overclock but different overclocking programs also install there own little "tweaks" and stuff which can affect performance and/or stability.

Personally I hate the programs that come with most overclocking apps, I much prefer the coolbits registry hack for nvidia and overclocking via BIOS editing for ATi. That way all Im doing is turning up the clock speeds, not having a program mess with driver/registry settings or add options that Il never use. Thats just my opinion, most people around here like the added options that come with rage3d tweak (ATi), powerstrip (all cards) and rivatuner(nvidia).
