I just read this at ASUS's site:

64-bit PCI slots are backwards compatible and also support 32-bit PCI cards or peripherals.

How can this be possible when the slots aren't the same shape????
 
those are not backward compatible pci slots. in the picture below the first three pci slots are backward compatible
 
Way to go Asus. Now that we are on the subject I actually pulled out my Abit mobo manual the other day and you have no idea how many typo's they have in there. You'd think that something that technical would be a little more...uhhh, quality. But they make some stupid mistakes. And if I didn't already know what they were talking about I would have been totally lost. ahhhhh, the IT industry...go figure.
