While I so totally agree with you on that subject. Hasn't the author of setispy discontinued his contributions to the project?

I think your mixing it up with SETI Driver.

According to the web page, the guy is no longer supporting
the SETIDriver program, but has it open source so someone
can pick up where he left off.
