Dorm Networking Question

I currently live in 2 person dorm rooms at my school. Our school uses a T1 (i believe) line that has access points within a close distance to our rooms.

I'm wondering if it would be possible for us to get some type of wireless router/cards so we could use that internet in our rooms.

I obviously know nothing about networking, so I thought this would be the best place to go.l

If anyone could help me with this situation by providing answers of how I would go about doing this and possible products I would need to look into, that be great.

You're gonna have to see what your school allows. I know that at my school we are forbidden to have anything like that at all. All we're allowed to have is one computer with one hardware address per network port. I would ask, because that's how you get kicked off the network for a long time.
