Something weird is going on with one of the systems I built. When it was booted up it looked like it was in safe mode or there were no video drivers for the card. Tell me if you don't know what i mean. I made sure it was booting normal and not safe mode but still no luck. I'm pretty sure the sound wasn't working either. Could this be some kind of IRQ conflict? If so how would I fix it? Move the sound card to a different pci slot so the card would be on a differnt IRQ?

Tell me what's happening in device manager. What does it list for your video card? Does it list your sound card?

Does this happen every time? When I had an ATI Xpert 2000 it would seem like no drivers were installed and then once I rebooted it would go back to normal.

Yes Darkarctic it happens every time. I have had this system for around 6 months and it just started happening. This is just a secondary machine. The specs are

duron 750
16mb riva tnt2
onboard sound
ecs k7vza
15 gb 5400 rpm maxtor
52x cdrom
128 mb pc133 sdram

In device manager it doesn't show up as a device conflict but it could still be an irq conflict or am i wrong? The video card shows up in device manager but I need to check about the sound because this is not the system im using now
