moving to ohio once 2012 gets closer
So i have a tv tuner now so i can watch tv on my comp.
I also have duel lcd monitors

When im in a game I have to enable windows mode to be able to play the tv and to be able to move my mouse outside the screen.

I notice quite a drop in fps too.....

anyway to fix that?

Another thing is that it gets very laggy while im in game and i go to open another application for my other screen

I have a 3.2 ghz dual core comp
x1900xtx graph card
2gb ram

you guys know anything to possible avoid it so i wont have to enable windows mode or anything to improve fps a tad?

well. games, typically, are very computer intensive. They will use whatever resources are available to them, so playing a game while opening other apps will cause conflict in where resources are being used, and will cause lag in the game. Playing games in window mode will generally cause more lag than playing it full screen because of the extra work for the video card to draw the desktop as well as the game. Adding another monitor also adds stress to the system, and adding the TV adds even more stress. Plus, most tv tuners do not decode and display the tv image completely independent of the rest of the system, so some of your processor and video card power goes in to helping with that too.

Basically, I think you are trying to do too much at once on your system.

i'm guessing you have the tv hooked up using a regular rca cable? If so, you could try using S-Video. Composite, DVI, D-SUB, and HDMI would all give much better pictures, but I doubt your tv tuner has the support for any of those connections.

does the TV have composite inputs? if so, then yes, the composite is the way to go, doesn't matter what type of signal is being sent, analog tv or digital. Composite cables are still analog, but their picture quality is much better than standard RCA. S-Video is a step up too, so give them both a try and see what you think is better.

The picture quality is decent i think im just too picky.

I keep expecting it to be tv quality picture and its just not quite there. my tv doesn't have either of those ports though.

My dvd/vcr does a s-video port though..

well, if the tv doesn't have s-video, i think you are SOL. running it to the vcr then back to the tv just puts another device to lose quality to in the loop.

yeah, they have signal boosters. I don't think they are too expensive too. Obvious places like best buy and radio shack have them.
