"First Impressions - Is It Worth Playing?" - Pre-order, Coming June 10th 2025

"Dune Awakening is a brand new upcoming multiplayer survival game set on the harsh planet of Arakis, a barren world where players will face threats such as the colossal sandworm, Coriolis storms and empire ship incursions.
Starting out players will explore a massive open desert zone and progress through a fully voice acted main story where they’ll travel to various desert sectors in search of increasingly rare materials to become more powerful, along the way they’ll learn how to build a base, upgrade gear, sandbike crafting, taking NPC contracts and exploring the various POIs for rare crafting materials. Dune Awakening can be fully enjoyed solo as a story driven survival adventure for the first 60-100 hours until you’ve progressed to the point of crafting your ornithopter which will then allow you to travel to an area known as “The Deep Desert” which is a dynamic multiplayer endgame area that supports hundreds of players rather than the 40 player limit of the Hagga Basin. What’s interesting about The Deep Desert is that a giant Coriolis storm resets the map every week, when the dust settles everything is different, which should provide a feeling of infinite exploration, this Deep Desert zone is 9-10 times larger than the Hagga Basin where the main story takes place and open PVP is enabled in this area."

"Dune Awakening (PC) is a multiplayer survival game set in the world of Frank Herbert's sci-fi epic. How is it? Let's talk."

People apparently had a lot of fun during the beta, lots of swearing and shouting, lots of deaths to worms and entering other people's base and getting stuck. Nice way to see some actual gameplay (and bugs) and have a giggle or two in the process

NSFW warning

One thing is for certain...you won't get bored by the repetition like Starfield. I'm pretty much clueless right now, but I'm slowly advancing.

Gives us the d33ts, gameplay/graphics/bugs?

Sorry, but I don't know the meaning of "d33ts". The gameplay is a little confusing and I often don't know where to go on a contract/quest. Graphics are just OK. No bugs encountered yet.

A sobering explanation of this game to consider...

Agreed and up to a point I see why they did it, immersion (or some sort of gatekeeping), but it's a fairly easy fix, separate the map into pvp and non-pvp areas, If they choose to listen, praise all around, if not players complain+leave. Or do like Warcraft, separate servers into PvE and PvP.

It's already devastating enough to lose everything to a Sandworm...just like starting from scratch again after many hours. This game is a serious grind.

I spent some time this morning making duplicates of gear/weapons to store at my base. Best way I can think of that will somewhat mitigate another complete loss...it will happen again eventually.

Here are a few screenshots in game...

Late yesterday evening I discovered the "game" now wants me to destroy my original base and build another improved base in a new area of the map. I'm going to break with tradition and do this in a slightly different way lol. I'm also considering building a unique looking structure this time to amuse myself.

Do you get resources back if you destroy your old base?
