and

DVD- write

hey Jenova, that is the exact burner im looking to get really soon! Let me know what you think of it!

DVD-RAM and DVD+ write and DVD- write just means that it can burn to all of those formats. There are currently many formats of DVD out there. There is "+" and "-" with both having an r and an rw version ( ie, -r, +r, -rw, +rw ) and there is also a DVD-RAM format. This drive is great because it doesnt just work with one, but works with them all! so it doesn't matter which formant becomes standard, you will have the ability to burn any one! ( except if a new format comes out ).

Which format to use? well that is your own preference. People are split between the "+" and "-" formats, so whatever is more compatible with your home dvd player ( if you own one ) or whatever format is better for the task you need to do on the computer ( the different formats have different pros and cons ), then that is the format you can use. But since you have this all purpose burner, you can burn all of the formats:D

Enjoy your burner
Merry Christmas! (if it applies to you)

Raven
