Hey guys,

I've never really ripped DVDs before but since I'm setting up a media server, I might as well rip my DVD collection onto it. My question now is...

I have a Friends TV Show Season 1 DVD. Would it be possible to just rip the episodes individually and not the menus etc.. ? I really only want each episode pulled out from the DVD and not sure if this is possible. Any information would be appreciated....

Thanks..

there are various ripping tools that can help you.

I believe in this case, a program called Handbrake is possibly going to be your best friend. You'll have to do some reading up on it as there are things you can tweak to make the ripping process faster, consume less space per file, etc.... but once you do, it will make ripping discs so easy that you can do it in your sleep.

Handbrake seems to do what I want it to, I'm going to test it when I get home with some TV DVDs and report back the results.

Thanks

ah.

still why i like Handbrake. Don't need anydvd with handbrake....

though i admit, very few programs out there are as easy to use as DVDShrink.

Handbrake keeps crashing on me after the first encode, not sure why. I followed ratbuddys guide and it's working fine. What does AnyDVD do that DVDShrink doesn't?

Ok so I ripped my Friends S4, only problem is each file is around 1 gig with the season finale being 2 gigs. Any good software to encode them with divx/xvid to bring them down to 300 mb each?
