DX2 I.W. "Tweaker" fixed all my graphics/performance problems!!!

Finnaly! I can run this game smoothly and pleasently! I FOUND A "tWEAKER' program that someone made to fix the problems with DX 2. I am getting to where i like this game now. This little program fixed most of my problems. The crappy performance is almost gone...it could still be smoother but now its a lot better than before. The graphical glitches are gone completly...you know the little squares and rectangles that where all over the place. and the mouse and gameplay has smoothed out as well. You have to install the version 1.1 retail patch before you install the "tweaker" program. I found it at 3Dgpu.com forums.

I couldnt' find a direct link so you'll have to get it the way I did...through a thread. You can download it from the 6th post down under "kaptain kangaroo"

Tell me if this helped you or not. And....if you have tried anydifferent settings on the "tweaker."

I just selected "optimal" on both and it works killer!

I hope it wont disapoint too much.

btw, I'm still playing kotor(I took a few days off from playing do to the holidays)...30hrs and 15mins.....
and I'm only half way through.

call me slow or maybe the game is longer them most peeps say.
I'm turning to the dark side first....it's sooo sweet.
I wish I could tell you more...I don't want to spoil anything for you.

The tweaker works fairly well. As i said before my performance has improved but its still kinda chuggy...maybe if I turn down the shadows? The graphics look sweet now! i can appreciate them instead of getting upset!!

I installed KOTOR and started playing it... I got down to the planet and am starting to look for the Jedi chick. But...I moved the whole game to my back up drive when I installed my new 74gig Rapttor raid...and I cant' find a way to be able to use the game again? I looked for the exe. file but cant' seem to be able to initiate it. All of my other games made it fine through the upgrade. Maybe i can re-install over the old folder?

what about reinstalling the game (on your raptors), then pulling up your saved games into your new folder on your raptors?
that should work, right?

lol... I just got into this game too. Early Christmas present from the wife. Awresome game!!! I just got finished off the main quest on Dantooine today. I'm gonna hit some of the side quests before I continue. Before this game, I was getting kind of burned out on Bioware's games. BG2 and NWN got boring about 3/4 of the way through. I'm completely hooked on this one so far. Excellent game!

I'm curious to see how the teaker prog works. I might give it a whirl here pretty soon. I got some killer games for Christmas that didn't pi** me off as much as DXIW. The new games will take higher prescedence.
