Here is something that may interest many of you with the A7V motherboard. Instead of using solder for turning your Promise chip into a raid chip here is a solder free method. All you have to do is flash this hacked bios version based on the 107 bios and use the Promise raid drivers for your card. The hacked bios simply changes the ATA100 controller to have the same ID as the raid chip just like the solder hack. The bios has been carefully tested but I assume no responsibility if your machine doesn't boot. Bios flashing can be dangerous so use caution. Please do not flash the bios if you get bios checksum error 7DCB. Once the conversion has been done you will want to format your drive array and load a fresh os or there will be no gain in performance. Feel free to download the bios and drivers from my site.
