my usb pendrive recently died horribly on me, it spontaneously decided to write protect itself under winme and now cant be written to on any version of windows. its a 128 meg usb 1.1 easydisk pendrive thats out its warranty period by about 4 months :(

does anyone know if there is a porgram that will format it and remove the write protection or is there a recovery utilitie that actually works since nothing on the drivers disc that came with it works and i cant find anything through google.

the data on it doesnt matter, its just a few mp3s and such so they can go [next week it wouldve had my computing project on it though]

anything that could work would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Yes I know how to fix them. On the CD you got with the disk is a small program called MFormat.exe (pretty sure of spelling??)
Use it to reformat the drive and restore it to its original state.

Let me know how it goes.
