I had bid on a 2.4 ghz Northwood over the weekend for $499 on ebay. Well today at a little after 1pm est. it was about to go off and i was still high bidder. I started refreshing the page every minute or so about 15 minutes before the auction. Well Ebay suddenly decided not to load anymore. I Instant messaged a couple of friends to watch for me and they couldn't get on either. Guess what minutes after the auction ended it slowly loaded and i had lost to $510 vs my $499. I'm ****ed now for it's the only part i'm waiting on.

Proxy bid. Place the highest you would pay for a bid, let ebay automatically bid up to that amount for you.

Just for the record, I could build an entire AMD system for $510 (cpu/mem/mobo). I left Intel for that simple fact, why pay more for same or less? Peace.

Ooh Pinky, repent from where thou hast fallen from. Some people will spend good money on that ferrari to be the fastest around.

Whats wrong with intel?
Sure AMD might be a faster MHz per MHz, but they are so far behind now, if you want the fastest system you need intel....
(and i really wish their (AMD) thermal probe worked a little better, another throne in their side)

But Burning Phoenix,I wouldnt go for a 2.4, to hard to get 133FSB, and thats what you really want with a P4... then you get to watch your system fly by AMD.

I wanted to be the first to try here!

All my overclocking adventures have at least let me overclock with everystock at 115 fsb minimun. 2400 @ 115fsb = 2760mhz. So i know i'm at least looking at that and later when i feel comfortable with my DD waterblock/peltier again i'll see what it could do. Either way when the 2.4 (133 fsb) and 2.53 (133 fsb) chips come out i'll get one of those too.

Then I wish you the best of luck.
Just make sure you let us know how well the CPU does

GOOD NEWS !
I have got to tell you this.
I have been ****ed all day and i found a intel distributer who is going to sell me one for $475 + shipping!

I'm happy now!

I hope it's a quote for the 2.4 and not 2.2 but i'm going email one more time to confirm before paypaling the money.

I got my P4 1.8A to an FSB of 130 before the voltage rails (specifically the VCore and the 12v) started dropping
seems i need that ATX12v connector after all...
