How does one remove entries from the desktop context menu (you know, when you right click) that were put there by software I had originally installed?

It's getting too bloated. I'd like to remove some entries from software I have since removed (Shutterfly), and while I have Adobe Acrobat, I never use the context menu entries, would like to remove those and a few others.

Thanks in advance.

BTW...how come OC's top right search bar, when you type in text for a search, the words "Search Overclockers.com" don't disappear..you can't read what you are typing geez...

I loved the site before this take over!!

The easiest way to modify the context menus, without having to manually edit the registry, is to use a program like FileMenu Tools...

FileMenu Tools allows you to customise the context menu of Windows Explorer. And it lets you:

• Add some built-in utilities that perform operations on files and folders.
• Add customised commands which run external applications, copy/move to a specific folder or delete specific file types.
• Configure the "Send to..." submenu.
• Enable/disable commands which are added by other applications to the context menu.

... or manually edit the entries listed under the following key in the registry:

Code:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers

I tried after FileMenu Tools after a search here...and either it doesn't do what I want OR it doesn't allow me to edit the desktop context menu when I right click.

For example, when I installed it, I was able to remove some things from the submenu "Send to", but not all, such as removing the drive letters.

Nor did I see any listing to remove Adobe's context menu addins either.

In my opinion..from what I could tell, FileMenuTools is only good for adding new things, and reducing a LIMITED amount of the items present.

I also didn't see Shutterfly which is present in my context menu via FileMenuTools, and so I can't remove that either.

Thanks for the other suggestions..I'll try those.
