lo lo, im planning on doing the keyboard mod, ive got a black Logitech keyboard, and im gonna buy some red EL tape, the problem is, the EL tape has got a 4-pins molex plug on it  now im wondering how i can replace that with something else...

ie: batteries, or simply the plug in the wall...

i dont like the idea of having to route the EL-molex all the way to my PSU..

you can tap intop the USB power source in your Keyboard. Just run a parallel circuit off of it with the required resistors, if needed. Do you have a link to the actual thing you plan in buying?

someone has already done this on these forums, search for it, im sure you can find it and how they did it. (if im not mistaken, he pluged it into the keyboards power like thefrag said)

the usb power would only be 5volts, i think that you would be better off using some old catV to hook the EL wire to your PSU, that way you can get all the current you need. good luck! also, i dont think batteries or the wall socket would cut it.

hmm, hooking up the EL tape to the USB power line wont work, since its a wireless keyboard :) and my knowledge of resistors and power circuits isnt that great yet (<--understatement) since im still in school trying to learn all those things :D

ill try another search for it, but EL is two letters, and the minimum is three
