My enermax whisper 431w psu has 2 fans, one of which (the one that exhausts out of the case) is temp controlled. I need more negative air pressure for my case, so I'd like this fan maxed all the time. Should I just snip off the thermistor and twist the wires together or what?

I believe that not having the fan hooked into a header disables the auto temp control. I was having huge heat problems with the PSU until I unplugged it, and its been fine since.

I would agree with the leaving it unplugged. I never plugged mine in and everytime I checked it was running at what I think is full speed.

fixed

When I had it plugged into the motherboard it wouldn't work at all. I used a 3 to 4-pin adapter and now it seems to be working.
