hello ppl,
i have a question about a settings that might help me improve stability. My machine will spontaneously reboot. i have never seen it but i see the win2000 defualt login SS so i assumed it reset. my cpu can take sisandra burn test and i doubt its memory since every thing is running at spec expect the cpu any suggestion its minor over all but still annoying
thanks :)

Post all your machine specs. CPU, mobo (epox 8k7a?), mem, graphics, sound, power supply, etc.

Also what are you running at for FSB and CPU clock, mem timings, etc.

This might help to troubleshoot.

750 duron 133x7.5 i think samsung registered cas 2 ddr 2100 256mb epox k7a 8884223 i think vcore is at 2.07 tnt 2 ultra

Take your FSB down to 100MHz!! Durons are designed for 100Mhz FSB. That the default. Then see how you're stability is. Then you can start ocing the CPU by increasing the FSB.

You're currently running the poor 750 Duron at 998 MHz. You should get 100 MHz with proper cooling, etc, but you will probably do it with a lower FSB and higher multiplier setting.

Good luck.

well i cant do multiplyers because my duron doesnt set me using dip switches and i am not unlocking it as that seem a bit extreme with my limited soldering knowledge. hmm question i can raise it past 7.5 but does that mean i cant lower it either (amd newbie)?

Your vcore seems a little high. Turn it down to default. That should improve stabilitiy. What are your temps? What type of heatsink do you have?

coolermaster hsf dont reallyknow the brand just big hs and F vcore is that hi because i would get errors when it was at 1.97 and it wont run 1000 at default vcore. cpu is decent tho wont run prime 95 but will run sisandra burn test for days. i idle at 39~41 and load at 45~49

just a small update. i found out about the event viewer for win2000. with that i was able to find out that it was a memory error and win2000 was doing a dump then restarting. i found out that i had bad ram. it would bench at spec kept freezing. bought new ram based on nanya it seems alright as it running at 154 mhz hehe gotta love epox. so it was bad memory if anyone else experiences that hope this helps
