I just purchased the epox 8k7a motherboard and the antec 1030b case w/ a 300 psu. for some strange reason, the front led lights don't work. i contacted antec and they sent me new lights but it still doesn't work. so i'm thinking its either the psu or the motherboard. can anyone help me and let me know what it could be???

Antec 1030b case w/ 300 watt psu
Epox 8k7a
Athlon 1.33 w/ 266fsb
256 crucial ram
HP cdrw
6 gb hd and 60 gb hd
floppy
geforce 2 gts pro w/ 64mb
4 80mm case fans

sweet set up btw. where did you find the 1030 case the b means black correct.

Well, I guess I'll have to RMA the motherboard back to newegg. I already tried adjusting the leds on the motherboard but nothing works so I'm figuring it's just a bad board.

The case is a black 1030b antec case. Not remembering where I got it from exactly but it was like $78 and 20 for shipping. so not too bad. only thing is its got a 300 watt psu. hope to upgrade it soon.

Woah plz tell where you got that case!! That is a great deal lol!! They are usually much more. Think hard where you got it lol I might pick one up for myself :D

Ok, I just got a new board back from newegg and new leds from antec. Tried using the leds w/ my old pentium and worked fine for a while. When i put the new epox 8k7a board in, didn't even see a little light. doh. i've tried rearranging the leds on the board backwards and fowards. nothing. i'm hoping someone has the same case and psu and mb. any help would be appreciated.

I think i bought it from www.emscomputing.com . you can always check pricewatch for the lowest price.

That's strange. Rearranging the connectors on the motherboard won't do anything though. You have to do it just like the motherboard manual says. Are any of the led connectors worded different on the connector itself compared to what mobo says they're called.

I have the same problem but with the power LED. I am not sure, but it could be just a dead LED. But I don't wanna take apart the computer and test it.

Um, lets see. All the leds are labeled the same way as in the motherboard manual. Only difference being that the power led takes three slots while the motherboard has five openings. I tried both ways to fit it and still no lights. Can't figure out why the hd led wouldn't work either though.

As for the other thingthough the 400 watt version is on it.

It wouldn't be any of the fans or peripherals, right?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. I hope its not the power supply or anything cause its only a 300 watt and i didn't see it on amd's approved psu even .

As for the bad leds, you can always email antec and they'll send you some new ones for free. Thats how i got mine.

It can be that the wire is loose on the case.I know it's hard to get at but if you take the front of the case off you can look or wiggle the wire around.

I have the exact same thing but mine is beige. I've had no problems with my front LEDs at all since day one.

There wouldn't be a jumper or something that I might have overlooked??? I am desperate to getting the leds working. I can't for the life of me figure out what I did wrong. I would think that at least the hd light would come on but nothing. Jon are you using the 300watt one? There isn't an option in the bios I might have put wrong???

Ok, I feel really stupid. I remember trying to get help here a few weeks ago and someone telling me to make sure the leds are facing the front of the mb. Well, that's what I did when I got the new board but finally realized it's supposed to be the other way. All the switches work either forward or reverse but the leds have to face the back. argh~~~

anyways, thanks everyone for your help. IT was very appreciated. just boosted up another 256mb ram. hope it gets a lil faster. next stop, sound card.
