Hi all---

I'm curious....could I use DDR ram higher than pc2100 in this board If I wanted to? Would It work?

Thanks---

I use Corsair PC2400 in this board, and I've heard of people using Nanya PC2700 in it as well.

So, the answer is yes.

So in order to use the higher memory, I would HAVE to overclock?

No, you would be UNDERclocking -quite a cocept eh-

Please forgive my ignorance, but could you elaborate on that point a little further? I'm not sure I get it.

Thanks---

Iceman, what he means is this:

PC2400 and PC2700 RAM is rated to go faster than the 133MHz of PC2100 RAM.

PC2100 = 133MHz
PC2400 = 150MHz
PC2700 = 166MHz

Therefore, if you run the faster RAM at a slower 133MHz bus speed, you are essentially underclocking it... Basically, it means you will have room to overclock your FSB and still be within specs of the RAM.

Hope that helps clear it up.
