what is your recomendation?
EPOX 8KHA+ or NEW 8K3A+
or other board??

very thz guys

First off, the 8K3A+ has built in raid and the 8KHA+ does not. I would say to get the 8K3A or the "+", it runs the KT333 chipset where you can run your 2700 mem at 166 and the FSB at say 133, asyncronous (sp?). Plus the 8K3A and + have vcore up to 2.2V!!! The 8KHA+ only goes to 1.85, and I heard that Epox got the 5v line worked out on these new boards.

Official recommendation: 8K3A or 8K3A+!

boards

wait on the new issue from Epox.

reports are that it really doesn't offer anything better than the present issues (8kha, 8k7a, all flavors) as far as clocking goes, in fact, the intitial reports are very mixed.

and, for the 8kha+, epox has a pci raid controller that works wonderfully, but not on the 8k7a. i am running one now on my 8kha+, very nice. only problem is the driver issue with XP, waiting for an answer from Epox. check out Epox's website for info on the PCI raid controller.

i can load the w2k drivers in winblowsXP, but when i try and install them as a third party driver at OS install, all hell breaks loose with harddrive corruption, but not on the raid controller, the main ide driver gets hosed for the m/b's ide?????????????????

took me about a month of crashes to figure that one out.

what is the exact difference between the 8K3A+ and the 8K3A besides 10 bucks? Also what is the difference between the KT333CE and the KT333?

???????????????

+=raid
nothing=no raid.

uh, this information is readily available at website, or, if you feel real daring, READ the print for each board at a website like NewEgg.

I sumtimes wonder ...............

Uhhhhh, exept for the fact that the VCORE goes up to 2.2 and the FSB goes up to 252 and the ram can be set to run at 166. I am able to OC my 1900+ about 125 Mhz more with this board than with the 8KHA+.

i would say 8k3a. also looking for one. but i've heard there's some problem w/ it tho. not sure exactly what's wrong.

but as u said, 2.2vcore, 252FSB, offically support 166+FSB. what more could i ask for?!!

Only issue I heard of was a bios issue and their are three bios's out now. Just wanted to mention that it also allows a pci latency from bios. Missed that in the reviews. Did someone mention the 3.2v on the ddr as well? Then of course there are the 1/5 pci divisor and the 1/2.5 agp divisor. I do not know about you guys but mine is running substantially faster than my Shuttle Ak31 did.
