Well, I broke my other EPOX 8KHA, and they sent me a new one.

I've already tried updating the bios, etc.

I've tried it on my dads rig, same

Athlon Mp 1400 MHz

I Got a little bit of thermalpaste on the bridges, could that have unlocked it to Mp?

There is a bridge on the XPs that, if closed, will cause the motherboard to detect it as an MP.

Alot of study is going on right now about this and its importance to those of us that run duallies.

Should not give you any problems by showing as an MP.

I was at the local computer show today and was paying particular attention to this XP/MP situation. From what I saw on the CPUs from several vendors showed that about half of the XP's had that additional L5 bridge cut. All I was able to see were brown CPU's but I would assume that it will show up on both. My new XP should be here Monday or Tuesday, I'll be able to compare it to my older XP. No DURON that I looked at had this additional bridge cut.

I've read a couple of things recently on this and it is interesting. I hope what I've read is correct on this issue, at least until I get my dual board shaken out.

By the way most vendors were sold out of the XP1600 although they had plenty of 1700's, 1800's etc. Also better prices available on-line from reputable dealers.
