Epson Perfection 1650 and WinXP problem

Hello!
Had anyone problems with XP and Epson 1650??? I cannot get it to work. Pleeeeease help!!!

I have it and i have no problems at all install the latest epson driver from their website.

Already installed, but XP kills it with its own.

how can it kill it with its own? I've installed Windows XP around 30 times and each time i installed the drivers for this scanner i have had no problems. are you sure you downloaded the XP drivers?

It was named XP/2000.

what error are you getting?
is there an exclamation mark next to the scanner in device manager?

No, but the scanner turns on and off, beeps, makes ´work´ noises during XP boot and when in I am in Internet.

did you do a clean install of Windows XP?

Sure I did.
I think it is only a driver´s problem. I mean, the scanner must be good for that price, it is just a new software (XP). I have contacted administrator @ epson- europe, he has said that all I need is to wait. Thankx for all!
