I have been out of computers for awhile now (mid 05 or so) anyways I used to have a decent little machine and enjoyed playing bf2. Now im on a sony vaio from 01 with a 1.4 p4, 128 pc800 rdram, and a pci geforce 2. Anyways Im looking to build a budget machine that will allow me to play bf2 again and was wondering if someone could recommend a card that is available now days that is equal to or slightly better than what the radeon 9800 pro used to be, as I was quite happy with how it played bf2. I am not baised on the brand, id be interested in nvidia or ati.

Well that bar is set pretty low. Some integrated graphics approach or exceed the 9800pro now. A Nvidia 9400GT or HD4550 both $40-50ish) is a tier above the old 9800 pro but there is a lot of competition in that segment and you could find a miuch better card for the same money. A HD4650 DDR2 for around $48 for example has much better performance.
