so i have my E5300 OC to 3.6 VIA FSB of 300 x 12 and a rated FSB of 1200 all @ 1.35v(bios) 1.28-1.31v(Prime95/windows) respectively...

Now CPU-Z and CORE TEMP both read my cpu speed correctly @ 3.6Ghz

on the other hand, windows 7 and Si Soft Sandra insist that my real speed is 3.9Ghz

Is it just cause these too suck at reading core speeds or is there something else i am not aware of? :sly:

he said cpuz reads it as 3.6

Omari, that means you are at 3.6...not sure why it would read differently for Win7 and SiSoft though

do you have win7 and does it read your CPU speed correctly?

Missed that. You are running the CPU at less than its default multi of 13x. Most programs (unlike CPUz) read the default multiplier and assume that is what you are running. Windows, etc.

It isn't a "bug", the program isn't detecting your multiplier.

That's right,same case here;)

Sorry about that, I actually had that answer in my first post, but deleted it and put "run cpu-z" as I thought you hadn't done that yet.

Don't i wish! 4020 is the highest it's gone, that was on 1.41v and not especially stable. Ok so really it shouldn't even have "stable" mentioned in the same sentence, it crashed after about 40 seconds. Naturally while i was saving the 19.999s wprime short test screenshot. Sadly, that file isn't terribly readable :p
I think it might do 4.3 under water with 1.5vcore or so briefly, after which it'd be lucky to run at 1200 with stock volts. It may or may not have started to deteriorate, not sure.
