Evga 1070 vs Asus 1070

Here's another question--Is the i5 4690k powerful enough for the gtx 1070? I've been reading about it and some say yes and some say no that the 4690k will bottleneck the 1070. Not that I'm a big gamer but other people are and it'll be good to know one way or the other.

Yes it is, it is. You won't get any out of the box CPU with a faster IPC than your [email protected] (=[email protected]).

Fast enough for a couple of 1080's actually...

Bottleneck will be your eyesight

+1 you could run a couple GTX 1080s SLI with the i5 4690k.

One more vote to attest to good EVGA support. Just got off the phone with them regarding mismatched cards for SLI. They gave me an RMA# no questions asked.

I should have been more clear. The cards in question were GTX 970s. I have not seen any reports of SLI issues with the 10xx cards that support it.
