I had a Smart Fan and i put a Halflife Fan gril on it and guess what happend it was wayy too noisey i hate it now do all fan grils do this? I dident know it would make it louder but you should hear my computer now it roars! lol Please Help any one got any tips for me?

You could cut down the grill. That will probably ruin the look, but if there is any excess that you could trim off without destroying the design it would probably help.

use some foam or something to prevent it from rattling against the case
they sell silicon fan grommets, but you could make something similar to it for free

One way to quiet it down, which is pretty extreme, is to have the fanhole something like 120mm, and have a 80mm fan ducted to it.
This works, because the faster the air is hitting the grill, the more noise causing turbulence is created. You can test this by blowing on your finger, and moving it away and back in front on your mouth. The closer your finger is, the more turbulence=noise is created.

HuMm.. Thanx that was very helpfull guys. Nice way of explaining it with the hand and mouth thing. Ill try some of these Tecnicks and see what work's best for me.
