Sorry I have to ask , how do I measure my fan's size ?

Horizontally / vertically or
diagonally (corner to corner)

All I have is a tape measure which only measures in ft , in and cm . I'm not really sure about the conversion but I got these ruff estimates.

~ = about
~3in horizontally to ~80mm
~4.5in diagonally to ~120mm

My is guess that it's the horizontal measurement but I think this post will be easier than going to the computer store after work tomorrow .

Thanks if you...

1inch=2.54cm so 8cm=8/2.54 or 3.1inches

size is the square outside part not the circular fan part.

metric calculator here

What I really want to know is do you measure the fan size using the horizontal measurement ( _ ) , the vertical measurement ( I ) or diagnoly ( \ or / ) . All measurements were from the fan case not the actual fan .

3.125 in = 79.375mm ( _ or I ) horizontal or vertical

4.5 in = 114.3 mm ( \ ) diagonal
