Ok I have 4 computers on a home network. For simplicity sake I am going to call them:
sorry most of this i'm assuming because i'm not at home right now
Home1 (PC using D-Link 530 TX+ I believe)
Home2 (Identical to Home1, also has network printer on it)
Home3 (Oldest machine can't remember what NIC offhand)
Home4 (Recently built machine, statistics in sig using onboard LAN)

They are all running Win98 to start off with. When networked they all can see each other, so thats a good thing I figure. Home2 and Home4 have been having connection problems though. If I am on Home2 and copy and paste a file onto Home4 it takes about 10 minutes for 10 megs and thats wrong, but if i'm pulling things off it goes more or less the proper speed of about 10 seconds. Also if I am on Home4 and send any files to Home2 they work fine as well as pulling files over. Any idea what could be causing this. I have tried changing NICs with one of my spare ones but that didn't fix it.

Also none of my other PC's have a problem like this, just those 2 so i'm not sure if that means anything. Any help would be appriciated.

Something on your PC might be slowing it down such as spyware or something. Try scanning with Spybot - Search and Destroy, see if it comes up with anything.

Check to see if there might be newer drivers for your nics.
You may also have a cabling issue. Try a different cable on pc 2.
You could also set all of your nics speed to 100mb/full duplex instead of auto, assuming you are using a 100mb hub/switch.
