find out some stuff in HTML ?

OK, how do you find out how many visitors you're getting on a web page ? And, how do you find out their specs/IP/anything about them ? I know it can be done (to find out what OS they're using, what version of IE, ...) but I donno how ... anyone wanna help ?

you might try using something like accessing server Variables via ASP. Here is an example:
http://www.lib.washington.edu/asp/browser/servar.asp

there is simlar functionality in most dynamic web languages, however I don't believe strait HTML will do it. If you want to have mor einformation, you would be better off parsing web server logs for the info.

duh, forgot to say this : I'm running this webserver off my desktop, that's running Windows 2000 PRO. So, I don,t think there is a CPanel. And, as it's my own "server" I don't know which files to parse or whatever to know the activity I'm getting ....

Just write some logging scripts with PHP. It's very easy, really.

Are you using IIS 5.0 or Apache?

You have a couple choices

a) Use a freeware counter
b) Use some sort of scripting language to log visitors
c) Analyse your log files using a program like webtrends. I can't remember off the top of my head where the IIS logs are stored, but I believe it's somewhere in the windows dir.
