I'm using WineX 3.1 and I get a "wine: unhandled exception" when trying to run the ie6setup.exe.... grrr.... dcom98 installed just fine. Any bright ideas?

OK, so now I installed wine from the portage tree and got through most all of that document on setting up steam. It can't login now though, says it has problems connecting to the steam network, so I killed it. Now when I run it again I can't type anything in to the steam window, I just get typing in the console. What's goin' on here? Is there a specail way to launch steam other than wine STEAM.exe?
