Hi this is my first thread, although i have been following the forum for a while now. After a hard drive crash several months ago my original Mesh system has slowly been replaced by new components so all thats left of the original PC now is the case!!
You can see my setup in my sig. I am currently getting 2610 at 10X after fiddling with higher bus speeds and lower multipliers (which i found to be unstable generally). I have decided that a lower clock is better if it means i can keep my RAM speed about 220 mhz. Is this the right way of thinking? lol.

I seem to be having some temperature issues, cos speedfan reads my idle temp as about 40 @ 1.48 vcore. this climbs to 59 under load. i have tries reseating the hs several times. i am awaiting some AS5 from ebay at the moment so that should help!

heres some pics of my rig.... opinions please!

hey,

id say u need a bigger case with better cooling. wires are close to ninja fan. bigger case with 120mm in front and back and fan on side. case looks to small inside.

:welcome:to forums too

I can run at stock volts and push 4.10Ghz, but my rig doesnt like it much when I open PS7 and lots of other imaging software, it gets jittery, and will crash. But for the average Joe it would run all day.
What are the stock voltages for your core?

Welcome the the forums

do u reckon itll still be stable at stock volts?
i would do this, remeber what u have in bios right now to be stable at that speed and then put everthing on stock, stock volts, speed. And then see what is ur idle and load temps and we start from there.

ok well a couple of days ago my idle temp was about 36-8, before i began playing around again!!! ill make a note and post the stock temps

i think you need to get your case cabling under control. really, you want to tuck away all wires so there is easy airflow through the case. you could have the best cpu cooler in the word, but it won't help you if the inside of your case is 45c.

are these high temps with you side on or off on your case ?

What does your Case have as far as case fans ? If it has a fan in the front take it off cut the crap out behind the fan file the egdes so you dont cut your self then Put the fan back in . Do the same in the back and maybe replace those fan with better ones . A top blow hole would help lower your case temps as well.

hmmm well after trying to get it back to 2.6 it was unstable at lower volts, so i have decided to go for a setup i had a few weeks back...
2400 mhz ( 266*9)
1.36 volts
RAM = 216 mhz

still not stable at these volts, but feels more responsive- prob cos of higher bus speed?
Just a question that has been bugging me for a while....the volts in CPUZ never stay on the same number, its always moving eg between 1.36 and 1.392 in this case. Is this normal??

Below is a pic of my fans and their directions. I am beginning to wonder whether my Ninja is not operating properly, leading to higher temps, because even at load the h/s barely seems to get warm at all, let alone hot. The fins are basically room temp, with the heatpipes slightly warm....

cheers for all your help so far guys :p

I wouldnt worry so much about trying to use stock volts
If you oc need 1.5v for it to be stable use 1.5v most ppl consider 1.55v safe on air , especial with a after market HSF like you have .

Down load core temp , what does that say your temp is ?

load is about 47-49.
i have tidied the cables up but it hasnt really affected the temps. i did rotate the NB h/s to get more of the airflow though, and it now runs at 38.

well I wouldnt worry about your temps till you are over 55 deg load .

When im overclocking I use that as my guide when to stop when my load temps are higher than 55 then I stop overclocking not till 55 =)

ok cool. its just annoying cos all these other people seem to idle at 30 odd dgrees and here i am running a lot hotter with a slower overclock!!! oh well, i suppose i hve to start somewhere!!
can anyone shed any light on my Ninja not getting warm??
