I am not sure if this is just me but i have heard stories about how using dremels are so incredibly hard to do and such. Because of this, instead of making my own case window, i bought a lian li pc65 side window for my pc68 (only 30$, 5$ more than the DIY window kits). Anywho, I am in the process of a super duper case mod wich requires me to use a dremel. I first tested out the dremel on my old black metal case i had. I drew a triangle with a sharpie on the back and cut it out in around 15 minutes. For some reason, everybody says lian lis are easier to cut then metal cases but i disagree. Anyways, Since i purchased the lian li side case window, i had and extra side of the case that i wanted to practice on before i go and mod the rest of my case w/ my dremel. It was so easy! What i did was before hand, made with a marker a kinda square (the lines were not straight) on the back of the case. I just traced that out with my dremel and walla, i was done. It took me probably 5 cut off wheels to get through but i think i did a pretty decent job. With some rubber molding, you would not even be able to tell the minor imperfections i have in it.

I think he used the extra panel to practice, then he might cut the flame. All these people saying Dremels are hard to use. I wonder if they ever used one or it's just them.:D

yeah that was just for practice. i have the flame all drawn out in sharpie and am gonna cut it tomorrow. i will show you guys tomorrow.

i cant wait till i get my red lazer leds in the mail. that will kick ***

I used a combination of a hole saw and a dremel to cut my window..it came out nice!....I used the hole saw to cut the Corners and a dremel to cut all the straight lines and the curve around the Latch....If your going to cut holes for fans..I recommend a hole saw..no better results from anything....but a dremel is the tool for lines and small detail...

It's not that they're hard to use, it's that it's much more difficult with thicker/stronger metal, ie: steel, like most cases are made out of. I've tried both, and believe me, I can make something in my Lian Li twice as fast and twice as clean compared to using a steel case ;)

Can do.
I included the part numbers so you can find them in the store or on-line too. The wheel is a fibre reinforced cut off wheel, and that silver 'thingie' is the wheel bit. It has a tiny screw in the tip that is meant to screw through the center hole of the wheel, into the shaft to hold it tight.
Carefull of how tight though, I broke my screw....Don't need a Superman here.

Have fun!

The reason some people have a hard time cutting their with a dremel is because cases like the Antecs use like 1 mm steel which is much harder to cut than an aluminum Lian Li case.

i cut the flame. it looks soooooo phat. i lost the recharger for my digital camera and the batteries are all out. once i find the charger i will post some pics 4 ya all

It doesn't seem like that attachment would be good for cutting round blowholes. Would it be better to use a hole-saw on a drill for that or is there a better dremel way?

i made my self try holes both ways, dremel and hole saw.....by far the hole saw was best! they looked machine done.. awsome job.. dremel was ehhh... took an hour just to do a 80mm hole. hole saw takes 5 mins! just becareful w/ the plastic and a hole saw...its bad...go SLOW i riped up my plastic trying to go fast

An hour for an 80? I use a Dremel and it only takes me 15min. I will have to agree, a hole saw is the best for cutting holes...if you have a strong enough drill. Either use a drill press or an 18V hand drill. 12v just won't cut it (pun intended):)
