Regarding additives for the loop to mix with my distilled water I was lookin at a silver coil + these..

I wanted this as I have copper and aluminum in the loop.

Also say this and thought it might do a better job than vinegar for cleaning the system out?

What do you guys think?

The biocide looks good, I can't really help you on the rest of it though, sorry.

I don't know what comes with the reserator, but I'd be willing to bet that that would beat it lol

As a comparison between the Block that came with your 'tube', the EK block is 1000% better.

Forgive me if I haven't read all the thread, but the EK block is pretty restrictive over your Res... block. Not sure what pump your using, but the stock Res... pump prolly won't be happy......

If the money is that tight, you should just buy a top notch air cooler and save up for a proper loop IMHO. Sooner or later the Res... will die/cause corrosion/leak etc.

Lol, wow, that block looks like it fell right out of 2005. Pump looks like a rebranded jingway, which aren't entirely bad imo.

The blocks back then didn't have the micro-channels and plates on top. They flowed really well in comparison to todays block. Luckily they did because the pumps weren't up to it either.

More, what Jingway? They are made in 3 strength flavors. I don't think Zalman was too worried about pump power......

Well I ordered the EK block today. Do you think I might have to upgrade the pump then or might it be alright?

Yea man. If I had the cash I would upgrade it all but unfortunately this will have to do for now.
I also have around 3-4 feet of tubing that is coming form the pc to the zalman so I will shorten that as I think it might improve flow a bit, as the pump won't have to push the fluid over the extra few feet distance.
When I put the system together I used all the piping that came with it, didn't think of shortening it up a bit :)

yea I hope the pump will be ok. I also bought that sysclean fluid so I will run that with hot distilled water for an hour to try to clean it up fairly well.
I ordered a backplate to go with the EK block as I saw someone mention that it is better to use a backplate..

this is the plate..

Got some arctic silver MX-4 Thermal Compound and these are the fittings I got for the block, hope they are the correct ones?

Hoses are 5/16 btw

Should my temps drop a bit with the EK block?

I saw some folks mention that you can get a connector to connect your tubes directly to the kitchen tap for flushing. What are these connectors called and where can you buy them?
They sound handy!!

That's gonna depend on your tap...have you tried just using a funnel?

Haven't tried flushing it yet. Have the stuff on order that I'm gonna need so hopefully will be arriving via post this week. Wanted to have everything sorted before I got started.

The block is out of stock so I was looking at these 2 instead..

They are double the price so I wanted to know are they worth it compared to this original one I was looking at?...

And if so which of the other 2 is better, the solid nickel or the plexi?

Nickel and plexi will be the same, it's just a different look. Performance is a good bit better, but the difference wouldn't blow you away. Personally, I think the HF is the better choice, but I'm always looking for more performance...so yea.
