Just though I'd share what I've found out in the last 3 weeks since all I've folded is ProtienA's (and it's siblings). These times are not exact, but just an overall average over the last few weeks.

PII 400 @ 400 (Deschutes).........~ 56 min/frame
PIII 600 @ 900 (CuMine)...........~ 24 min/frame
Celeron 900 @ 1200 (CuMine).......~ 18 min/frame
P4 1300 @ 1300 (423 Willy)........~ 27 min/frame
XEON 1700 @ 1700 (dual Fosters)...~ 20 min/frame (ea. cpu)

That Celeron amazes me. I would have never thought that it could fold faster than a Xeon, although the new Prestonia's are probably a different story. And it also just proves how BAD the first generation of P4 Willy's are. I wish we had never bought it, but the GF wanted one for the kids, and I obviously did not know then what I know now!

Anyway, just thought it was an interesting comparison of just about all of Intel's lineup. Good info for anyone setting up a dedicated Intel folding box, i.e. stay away from P4's!!!

edit: Just in case you were wondering, these times are from "idle" folding. I didn't count slow frames from gaming, etc.
And the first person to tell me to get an AMD wins a prize!

Get an AMD!! :D Prize for me!! My Athlon 1.33 probably finishes a frame in like 10-12 min. But not sure on the exact numbers. And, of course, it all depends on the protein.

My Tbird 1100 does a frame in 14-16mins. But I play games a lot and most of the time the results get skewed. I check it after ther first few frames.

Willys aren't so bad

Im folding a ag29aNat @ 17.69 average time per frame. ;)

I am kinda irked as a few days after I got this Willy at a serious bargain (half the lowest pricewatch price) the seller offered me a 2.0a for the Same price....I'll get a Northy evenually when I get a raise from Skip

I gotcha all beat my Texas Instruments calculator does a frame in 3.2 sec.:D

Hey, where can I pick one of those up @? I've been debating between a p4 2.0 and a Amd xp2000. But now I'm not so sure, I might have to consider that TI. Is it overclocked? What's its FSB?

Your prize is.....

A P4 1.3 Willy!

MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'm actually trying to score some old slim desktops from work (old PIII 450s). I'd like about 4 of 'em, slap in some slockets and some CuMine Celly's and I'd have me a real farm!

I'd like to know where a Tualatin 256 and a Tualatin 512 fall in there.... My guess would be the Tua512 would be the fastest...

And then there's a Northwood to compare as well....

(but of course nothing compares to a AthlonXP :) )
