I turned on [email protected] on my desktop GPU and have my plex server running it as well - It won't put out many credits but I'm glad to be helping the cause and folding for team32 again.

I am now back to folding, have my gaming rig, and my homelab all folding (1 x Ryzen5 3600 and a RX5700 XT, along with 2 Xeon L5640s, and 8 Xeon L5630s)

I've been getting a lot of CPU & GPU work units lately for [email protected] Doing about 2,120,000 PPD right now.
Threadripper 3970X (only 32 threads)
Vega 64
When I use all 64 threads for my Threadripper my UPS alarm goes off and units that go beyond 900 watts are pricey...

I am back on the train too. My home office during all of this is downstairs in the minimally heated basement so a computer sitting next to me with a maxed out 1070 is actually making me more comfortable. I spun up the old Dell R710 with dual quads as well. Though I think that will put out more heat than it does PPD. Gotta break back into the upper 100 for T32!

Got approval from my supervisor to use some test lab resources for FaH, just deployed 4 16 vCPU appliances on latest gen Intel Xeons.

H, Does that require a restart of the client?

I do not think the client needs to be restarted to run a new core.

Each FAH project has a minimum core version and the client will auto-download required core, if not existing. FAH project management would need to update the min core ver for a newer core to be auto-deployed on existing projects.

The current released core22 v0.0.11 runs from location:
linux: /var/lib/fahclient/cores/cores.foldingathome.org/lin/64bit/22-0.0.11/Core_22.fah
windows: \AppData\Roaming\FAHClient\cores\cores.foldingathome.org\win\64bit\22-0.0.11\Core_22.fah

Core22 v0.0.13 and project 17102 are currently in Beta. Discussion should be limited to the FF Beta Testing Topic.

Heads up that we've just moved the longer 1343x projects to BETA and enabled them for core22 0.0.13 so that we can test full-length projects to make sure failure rates are within expected margins.

[GPU] PROJ13430-7 (OpenMM 22) for BETA testing

We're now testing GPU (core22) projects 13430-7. These simulations are X-ray structures collected from the COVID Moonshot (http://covid.ai/postera) that will help us pick better starting structures for the COVID Moonshot weekly sprints (https://foldingathome.org/2020/07/2...weekly-sprints-help-us-discover-a-new-therapy).

These are normal simulations, rather than free energy calculations, so they should not have the same problems that we faced earlier with 1342x projects, but please do report unexpected issues!

Please note that the folding performance will not change as that is dependent on FahCore which remains the same across V7.4.X, V7.5.X and V7.6.X



All my hosts have been updated to v7.6.21 and are running fine. 22x linux hosts (2xU1604, 20xU1804) and 2x windows hosts (1xW10, 1xW7). Did have to make manual adjustment to correct the GPU slot/order on two linux hosts.

All the linux hosts have 2x gpu slots and a few have existing cpu slots. No new slots were auto-created. A few of the gpu slots had wu in progress and resumed OK from checkpoint. FAHControl runs OK, but is only configured for the local client. Only issue encountered was that two of the hosts had GPU slot ID/order issue with slot closest to CPU socket being ID as slot 02 and the more distant as slot 01. The GPU model in the slot was reversed on one of the hosts too. Both of these boards (X58pro and P8Z77WS) have had slot ID issues in past and possible that the index had manual config.

The W7/W10 hosts are notebooks and do not normally fold, but have FAHControl configured to monitor/control/config the linux host clients. FAHContol has been running without issue on the W10 host and have folded a few wu on the discrete nvidia gpu 960m. The W7 host is dedicated to HFM, which has been running without issue and also has a copy of FAHControl, which appears to run OK too.
