I just won a HIS X1650 pro Turbo. I'm wondering how the X1650 series folds. I might setup xen so I can emulate windows, and run both SMP and GPU folding on my C2D. I wonder if I would get semi decent performance?

hmm...depends on just how well the GPU does....
With the 1900 series, you can get atleast 1kppd doing SMP and GPU (I forget who, but they're getting 1300+PDD doing VMware style).
Keep us updated!

It will work, but it will be pretty slow. I tried my X1600 Pro and it was like 22m+ per frame, got very hot, and used a lot more power. I'm sure the 1650 version will be a bit faster. You'd probably get in the 200's PPD. It would take 100% of one of your cores, so it may not be worth it since SMP is already getting you nice PPD.

Yeah, my 1950 will not kick in its 3'd clocks so i sit arround with 10-15 min a frame with a 1950 series... While i know SMP with my dual core would be insaine... I dont want to run linux.

@ sleepy.......errr.......ATITOOL!!!!!!! GET IT! When It opens, it automatically sets to the 3D clocks! Plus, if that doesnt work for some reason, theres the "fuzzy dice" as Mac put it... I think its "Show 3D View" button.
ANYWHO !! THATS HOW!!!!
Download it. Go Pwn.

I have it... and the magic fuzzy dice dont do it for me... although i know games are kicking in the good clocks because of the difference in preformance in full screen vs window'd mode.

Yeah, I have the distinct feeling it is because the X1950XT 256MB cards are not "totaly" supported yet. They have drivers and they run... But it seems all the third party utils dont know what to make of the card.

Supposedly, from what ive read... This will be one of the many things adressed with the 6.12 drivers. Only time will tell i guess.
