It has a usb on one side though.

I have read some reviews where people can actually game at 4K on these

Yeah - I get that...but if you are running an older version video card...it definitely does not have enough memory to display 4K

I get the feeling it's not true 4K if it's hdmi and I don't see memory in the specs.

as a matter of fact I have a 4k tv right behind me, great picture and all that, but I have never, ever seen a 4k broadcast in the time I have owned it and my guess is that I never will, but I can still say I watch 4k tv.

that would allow the use of a desktop graphics card with your laptop.
you need a desktop power supply to power it but it would allow you to fold with a more powerful card.

I have an old GTX660 laying around...was going to go this route...Franken Laptop...

But then I realized that I could put the GTX660 into my main rig...DOH!
