Well, to say i'm less than happy with my local PC store is a masterpiece of understatement. Here i am, with cash at the ready, having placed my order for the IC7-G three days ago(!!), i am now emailed by them saying they cannot get the IC7-G motherboard, or any other board from the IC7 series. What makes it worse is that this is the only damn store in the whole of Nova Scotia that stocks Abit!! The result.... I gotta go for an alternative after having my sights set on this board.

So, resigned to this fact, i've been scouting around and find myself coming back to my personal old favourite manufacturer... Aopen. Not the greatest reputation as far as overclocking goes but reviews (the few i managed to find) have been very positive in this respect. The board seem quite well packed with features and looks to be a better choice than my other two alternatives (Asus P4C800 and Gigabyte 8IK1100). Does anyone else have some opinions on the Aopen AX4C MAX?

That sucks man I know how you feel. I'm from saskatchewan and have the same problem finding specific parts. I recently ordered from an onlone retailer in canada called Vibe Computers. They are based out of B.C. Service was great, didn't have to pay P.S.T cause they are out of my home province. Shipping was like 10 bucks. Like you i want the Abit board as well...not stocked around here...their website shows to have it in around may 9th. Just an idea. Later man :D

my other two alternatives (Asus P4C800 and Gigabyte 8IK1100).

Get the gigabyte board. I am currently using it and you will diffinately be satisfied. Also, the Asus is going to be more exspensive and does not support all the new technology on the 875P chip.

Twoosh, could you do me a favour and post your voltage options for your gigabyte board..the max vcore, vdimm and vagp settings allowable in the bios. i've been looking for review but hav'nt been able to find any. Thanks

I haven't checked any online retailers because i have had way too many problems with numerous online orders. As a result i swore never to buy online again.

I ordered the Aopen AX4C MAX board, it should be here in a couple of days

Here it is!

I checked the settings for you and this is what I found,

vCore : Max is 1.76
vDimm : it says +.03 for the max setting.
vAGP : it also says +.03 for max setting.

I am not sure if you can set it higher with another setting. Althought I did not see any difference with the advanced options enabled.

EDIT: I just check easytuner 4 and it let me bump my vdimm to 2.8. I did not go any higher though, as my memory runs fine at stock voltage.
