just put together a sytem. all the stuff in my sig is the same except with an ecs k7s5a and duron 1000. i get a freeze up consistently after being in windows 5 to 10 minutes, i can't find anything that i'm doing to cause it each time it's just random.. any ideas or anyone with the same problem.....???????

bump, bump................

HELP!!!. i'm not familiar with this board or chipset, i'm gonna try to check the website but it's kinda hard having to reboot every 10 or 20 minutes... sometimes 30 seconds. i did a format and clean install on win98se. are there any windows updates that are necesary for this board to run corectly? i'm using the same omega drivers for my radeon that worked best on my shuttle and i installed the chipset drivers off the ecs cd.

Is it overclocked? Have you read the faq in the ecs section of these fine forums? There is some good info there. there is also a link from the front page a while back. link

you can also try over at OCWorkbench, They have an extensive forum on this board. I wish I could help more.

There's a boatload of windows98 updates if you click on the windows update tab after you click on the start button.
It make make your windows o/s a bit more stable.

not overclocked, can't even get it stable at default..... i checked out the faq, thanx for the front page link, i'll check it out now.

Have you tried running at a 100/100 fsb(underclocked). If it runs stable then I would say you have a bad board or memory that can't handle 133mhz.

my corsair pc2100 did 166 in my shuttle. shouldn't be a problem there. anyway, i swithced the ddr to slot 2 and havn't had a freeze since then. thanx for the tips.

see if you have updated video card driver. Had this problem before when it kept on freezing up on me after being in windows after so many minutes, updated drivers for my mx400 and the problem went away. Could be the culprit.
